There are the storage mongers, the dumpster divers, the thrift store explorers, those dudes on the beach with metal detectors, and the list goes on and on.

Some people have seriously scored big at the thrift store. These aren’t items people made a few hundred dollars off; these are items people made a huge amount of money off! All of these items were bought for dirt cheap compared to the selling price.

1. “Vertical Diamond” by Ilya Bolotowsky: Sold for $34,375



It was just another day in 2012 for starving artist Beth Feedback when she decided to take a trip to the local Goodwill. During her search for art supplies, she stumbled upon two peculiar oil paintings. After doing some haggling, she ended up paying only $9.99 for both canvases. Her friend later advised her to investigate one of the artists, Ilya Bolotowsky, and the research was well worth it. She ended up selling the rare painting for $34,375!
